Skiiing at Swiss Valley, Feb 24

Troop 103 has invited us to join their ski trip to Swiss Valley in Jones, MI for a day of skiing or snowboarding and the opportunity to earn the Snow Sports merit badge.
Swiss Valley is a smaller ski & snowbard area hosting a Scout Day on Feb 24 with reduced rates for scouts showing their BSA ID card ($26 for lift ticket, $18 equipment rental = $44) for passes, about a $20 savings. Dan Harrison, troop 103 scoutmaster, is an accomplished ski instructor and will be offering lessons to our scouts and adults on skiis. Group snowboard lessons are available from the facility for $10/per person.

This will be a (long) day trip starting at 6a from the Marcos parking lot and returning around 9:30p to the same location. Full details follow.

The Snow Sports merit badge (workbook) is available if you complete the pre-requisites. From Dan: “Pre-requisites for the MB:  Items 1-6, Item 7 subsets where is asks them to explain, have each candidate write down their answers.  All “demonstrates” we will accomplish towards the end of the day after they have had the opportunity to practice.  I will coordinate a specific time to meet and finish up.”
